About Me

I am a natural dyer living in London, specialising in foraging for dye material in an urban environment as well as utilising small spaces to cultivate dye plants. 

I am originally from Finland and foraging is deeply rooted in my blood, where she spent summers collecting berries and mushrooms with my grandparents. The main love I have for natural dyeing is the contact with plants and nature. I love to see the seasonal colours leaving their stamp on fibres. Living in London has given me a long season for dyeing and I am never out and about without a pair of secateurs and a foraging bag. 

I recently published a book ‘Dyeing Naturally’ which is aimed for beginners interested in learning about natural dyeing.

My passion with upcycling clothing and giving them a new life with plant based colours as well as dyeing yarn for knitwear. I dye yarn in small seasonal batches and you can find some of these in my shop as well as in Loop Knitting and Wild and Woolly in London.
